Eric Jacobson on Management: How to See What’s Holding You Back as a Leader
I'm grateful to Eric Jacobson for featuring Blindspotting on his well-respected leadership blog. His thoughtful recommendation is especially meaningful coming from someone who has spent years curating practical insights for managers and executives.

Helping leaders “see what they can’t”
Eric called Blindspotting “a compelling case for why leaders must learn to see what they can’t.” That message is central to the book. We don’t usually get derailed by our obvious flaws—we get tripped up by the strengths we’ve leaned on too long or too hard, without adjusting for new roles or challenges.
His post also touched on something I often hear from coaching clients: they didn’t realize anything was “wrong” until the patterns repeated. Whether it’s a strained team dynamic or stalled performance, the signs are there—but they’re easy to miss when we’re moving fast or flying solo. That’s why I wrote the book, and why I’m so appreciative of leaders like Eric helping to amplify the conversation.
